I heard your pet’s grey hairs are where the color has been kissed away.
If you’ve been lucky enough to experience life with an animal into their senior years, you know it’s a life filled with a kind of love that’s hard to put into words.
I have a young pet now, and as silly as it might sound, I already feel the ache of knowing that one day, the color in her sweet face will slowly be kissed away by time.
That’s the thing about loving animals.
They give us everything… and time moves too quickly.
One of the biggest mistakes I see pet owners make is simply waiting too long to book a professional pet photography session.
Over the years I’ve received many emails with the subject line:
“Urgent.”
When I see that word, my heart immediately understands what it means.
It means time has suddenly become precious. It means a beloved pet is nearing the end of their journey. And it means these photos will soon become some of the most meaningful images a family will ever own.
I will always move mountains to prioritize a pet legacy session when time is limited.
But if I could gently offer one piece of advice to every pet parent, it would be this:
Don’t wait until the last moment to capture this stage of your pet’s life.
The senior years deserve to be celebrated, honoured, and remembered while your pet is still here enjoying them with you.
When is the Right Time to Book a Legacy Pet Photography Session?
The best time to book a legacy pet session is when you start to notice the little changes.
The grey hairs appearing.
The slower movement.
When you begin to feel that subtle shift where time suddenly feels more precious…
What Makes a Legacy Session Different?
A legacy session is designed entirely around your pet’s comfort and needs.
This isn’t about perfect poses or high energy moments.
It’s about capturing who they are right now.
These sessions are slower, quieter, and very gentle. We follow their lead the entire time.
Where will the Session Take Place?
Location is always chosen based on your pet’s mobility and energy levels.
Sometimes that means a favourite park or walking trail.
Other times the most meaningful place is simply home, where your pet feels safest and most relaxed.
You Should be Included in the Photo Session Too.
One of the things I encourage during legacy sessions is for you to step into the photos as well.
Most pet parents have hundreds of pictures of their pet on their phone…
But very few images of the two of you together.
These photographs become incredibly meaningful later on because they show the connection, the companionship, and the love you shared.
Pet Photography, A Legacy that Lives on your Walls.
Legacy sessions are created with the intention of turning these memories into beautiful artwork you can live with every day.
Your pet has been part of your life, your routines, your comfort, and your happiest moments.
Their story deserves more than being stored on a device.
It deserves to be seen, remembered, and honoured in your home every day.
If your pet is entering their golden years, this is the chapter worth documenting.
Because the love you share right now is something you’ll want to remember forever.
I’d love to guide you through creating something beautiful together. Let’s start planning your legacy session.
